uber will be allowing riders to tip by the end of july 2017

As a part of the 180 days of change that uber announced. They will be now allowing riders to tip drivers via the uber app. They said tips will be allowed in 3 defined prices ($1, $3 and $5) as well as a custom amount. Tipping is live right now in 3 major citys and is to be rolled out nation wide by the end of july 2017.

That means you will no longer need to display the uber tip signs in your cars. I personally never did this but alot of driver have and got good results from this. After droping off a rider, when they are reviewing the driver they will now have the option to tip. Another thing uber said is that the tip window will be open for 30 days. This means riders will be able to tip a driver 30 days from when they had the ride.

This information is directly from uber and you can see the full 180 days of change for your self.
